Integrative Medicine at Yale is a program designed to provide a sustainable, central forum at Yale for interdisciplinary, inter-institutional, and international collaboration, research, and education in complementary, alternative, and integrative medicine. Through open-minded exploration and rigorous scientific inquiry, we aim to improve awareness and access to the best in evidence-based, comprehensive medical care available worldwide, with the goal of optimizing health and healing.
The next Integrative Medicine at Yale meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 2. Dr. Eric Secor from the University of Connecticut will discuss his esearch on the
anti-inflammatory effects of bromelain, a pineapple stem extract, in allergic asthma Details here.
The Institute of Medicine Summit on Integrative Medicine and the Public Health took place between February 25-27, 2009. The Summit brought together distinguished researchers, practitioners, and leaders from multiple sectors to present the vision, challenges, evidence base, and opportunities for integrative medicine to improve health care in the United States. Summit materials are available online: webcast, presentation slides, and commissioned papers.
The North American Research Conference on Complementary & Integrative Medicine was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 12 - 16, 2009. Over 700 academics, clinicians, and trainees attended. Details here.
